“In Crookhaven, where the Irish Sea meets land’s end, even the poorest family can change the fate of a kingdom.”

A magical Irish folk tale for children and families. Based on Hudson Talbott’s beloved book, O’Sullivan Stew is a new musical with music and lyrics by Frank Cuthbert and book by Laura Maria Censabella. it weaves together myth, music, and mischief in a rollicking tale of courage and storytelling

The Story

Katie O’Sullivan dreams of adventure beyond her small Irish village. When the king’s soldiers steal the wild red stallion that roams the cliffs, Crookhaven falls under a terrible curse. With her father and brothers too timid to act, Katie leads the O’Sullivans on a daring quest to win back the horse—and restore hope to their town.

Along the way, they face witches, giants, leprechauns, wolves, and feral cats, spinning tall tales to bargain for their lives. What begins as a family squabble becomes a journey of bravery, imagination, and the power of stories to transform the world.

O’Sullivan Stew is more than an Irish yarn—it’s a celebration of storytelling itself. With humor, music, and a cast of magical characters, the show reminds us that the tales we tell are often the strongest magic we have. For children, families, and anyone who believes in the power of imagination, it’s a feast worth sharing.
